 | Can anyone register to become a member? |
| In order to register to use CANON iMAGE GATEWAY, you must purchase a Canon digital photo product that is compatible with CANON iMAGE GATEWAY. A list of products compatible with CANON iMAGE GATEWAY can be found here. If you don't have a compatible Canon product however, you can still register to My Canon at http://my.canon-europe.com. |
 | What is My Canon? |
| My Canon is your personalised Canon experience. Registering with My Canon will give you access to member-only offers and services which you personalise to your needs. Registering with CANON iMAGE GATEWAY will automatically give you access to My Canon. |
 | If I have two Canon products, can I create two accounts? |
| You can only register for one CANON iMAGE GATEWAY account with one product. However, you are able to register for multiple products during the registration process. |
 | Where can I find the serial number for my Canon's product? |
| The serial number is usually located on the bottom of the product. For digital cameras, this is a 10-digit number with a prefix 'No.'. |
 | After registration, how soon can I use the site? |
| On completion of the membership registration, we will send the login password to the email address with which you registered. Once you receive the password, you will be able to use CANON iMAGE GATEWAY straight away. |
 | If I forgot my password, what should I do? |
| Go to the CANON iMAGE GATEWAY login page and click on 'Forgotten Password?'. Enter the email address with which you registered to CANON iMAGE GATEWAY and you will receive an email with your new password. |
 | After registration, I did not receive a confirmation email, why? |
| You might have made a mistake in the email address at the time of registration, hence we were unable to send an email to you. Therefore, please try to re-register with the correct email address and you should receive an email notification from us. |
| Online Photo Album |
 | Is there restriction in the album storage space? |
| Each member will be granted with 100MB storage space. |
 | How long will the images be stored? |
If your online photo albums have not been accessed for 180 days since the last access date, all data inside your online photo albums will be deleted.
To avoid your album being deleted, please login to CANON iMAGE GATEWAY and access one of your online photo albums.
The last access date will then be updated.
Note:
By accessing one of your online photo albums, the last access date is updated.
If visitors access one of your online photo albums, the last access date is also updated. |
 | How can I tell how much storage space I have left for storing my photos? |
You can find out the used storage space on your CANON iMAGE GATEWAY Top Page.
Alternatively when you upload photos from ZoomBrowser EX / ImageBrowser, you can check your available storage in the application. |
 | Is there a restriction of the quality of the photo or the size of photo to be uploaded into the site? |
| Provided the total size of the photos in your account, after uploading, does not exceed the 100MB, you can upload as many photos as you like. |
 | How many photos can I store in my online photo albums? |
You can store as many photos as you want until the total size of photos stored reaches 100MB of the storage space.
You can store up to 500 images in one album. You can create as many albums as you like. |
 | Can you only upload photos from ZoomBrowser EX / ImageBrowser? |
| You can also add photos from the CANON iMAGE GATEWAY directly using 'Upload images' option. |
 | After uploading my photos, what can I do with them? |
| Among other things, you are able to perform the following functions:
Rotate your photos
Organise and arrange the orderings of the photos
Move and copy photos between your albums
Correct red eye |
 | Can I add comments to the photo stored in the album? |
From your online photo album, you can edit the title of a photo by clicking 'Edit images' button inside an album within 'Album view'.
Alternatively, you can add comments to the photos in ZoomBrowser EX / ImageBrowser and upload together with your images into your online photo album. For further details, please read the Software Starter Guide accompanying ZoomBrowser EX / ImageBrowser. |
 | Can I add sound to the photo in the album? |
| It is possible to attach the recorded sound to the photos and upload them together into your online photo album from ZoomBrowser EX / ImageBrowser.
However, it is not possible to attach a sound file to the photos once they are uploaded into your online photo albums. For further details, please read the Software Starter Guide accompanying ZoomBrowser EX / ImageBrowser. |
 | Can anyone have access to my photo albums? |
| Your CANON iMAGE GATEWAY account is password protected and so you are the only person who will have access to your photos stored at your CANON iMAGE GATEWAY account. However, you can share your photos online with your friends by sending them a share email invitation. |
 | Is it possible to upload RAW images? |
| We currently do not support RAW images, the images to be stored must be of JPEG image.
Please convert your images of RAW format into JPEG format before uploading into your online account. |
 | Can I upload several photos at one time from ZoomBrowser EX / ImageBrowser? |
| It is possible to upload multiple photos at one time so long as the total size does not exceed your storage space. It is advisable to verify the necessary storage space is available in ZoomBrowser EX / ImageBrowser before the upload. |
 | Can I upload movies? |
| It is possible to upload movies by using ZoomBrowser EX / ImageBrowser provided with your product.

 | While uploading the picture it exceeds the storage capacity of the album, what can I do? |
| At the point of exceeding the storage space, you would not be able to upload the photos. You must stay within the 100MB boundary. |
 | The upload option is not shown in the online photo album. What is the reason? |
| You can not upload photos as you have exceeded the storage space. |
 | When I share photos with my friends and family, what do I actually send to them? |
| In order to share photos with your friends and family, you will first be required to create an album with the photos that you want to share. When you send the share invitation, a unique link will be generated which will enable your friends and family to see the photos. |
 | Another email application was launched when sending email from online photo album. How can I use my own email application? |
| You can specify an email application in your browser settings.
For Microsoft Internet Explorer users:
Click the Internet option in the Tools menu, then select Programs tab, and specify the email application. |
 | I have received an invitation to a friend's online photo album on CANON iMAGE GATEWAY - how can I view the images? |
| To view the online photo album that your friend has sent to you, simply click on the link in the email you have received which will take you directly to the album. |
 | When I click on the link in the invitation email, my friends album is not shown - Why can I not browse the online photo album? |
| The reasons you may not be able to browse your friend's online photo album are:
Your friend has already deleted the album.
Your friend has changed the share settings, and has not permitted album sharing. |

| If you are using a printer driver which is pre-installed in Windows Vista, you can not use the "Home printing" function. You can use "Home printing" by installing a printer driver from the CD-ROM that is bundled with your printer. You can also download the printer driver from Canon website. |

| A security warning dialog may appear when printing from Internet Explorer 7.0. In this case, click Allow to continue. Select the Do not show me the warning for this program again check box before clicking Allow to hide this warning dialog from the next time. |
